After yesterdays run I went down to the river to have a soak in the cool water. Although the water is not so cool it does help to revive slow legs. I meet a group of young guys in the car park who were finishing off an all nighter. They still had a few stubbies to go and the morning was starting to get warm.
While I was soaking and in a partial trance thinking of future races, a big fish jumped completely out of the water about two metres away from me.....it scared the bejesus out of me.
I finished the soak and then chatted to the young fellas for few minutes. I swung by the Calwell oval to see if TwoFruits was doing a recovery session down there and congratulate him on a fine performance at SFT, did a slow lap in lane 3 just to see how it felt as I have not run on an oval for many many years. Nice to run in bare feet on a cool surface. I am thinking of running one session per week to help bring my speed back.
I have now updated my running calendar up to the end of July. After the Canberra Marathon are a few smaller races as a build up to where I left off with my injury and then the 60Km Jaggad and longer events thereafter.

First run on Tuesday, quads still a bit sore but not bad. Will ride the bike a bit and maybe get to the river again today.
Your plan sounds good to me, the Bush Capital 60km I will do as well leading to Glasshouse 160 km in Sept. I like one day a week at the oval for speed but tempo is better than an intervals or speed session for long distance runners.SFT was a good run again.
