The pace of my runs has be spiraling downwards like I'm in some drug induced narcosis. So the coach suggested that I head to the oval and do some tempo running. So this morning that is exactly what I did. A warm up run that followed the Two Fruits loop run down as far as the drains and then I cut back over the ovals. Only a couple of older folk at the track doing some strange training session with their coach (not much running but plenty of talking and getting in my way).
I decided to use the Two Fruits model - 4 set x 5 laps, drink stop between each set and change direction. I ran in lane ? Third lane in from the outside, I think this is lane 6.
I made a mess of the lap function of the Garmin so only captured three of the four sets, 4'36", 4'51", 4'55".
I ran home the same way I had come. An enjoyable training session. I will add it in as a regular feature.

Two Fruits told me yesterday about your use of lane 6. That's my lane! ;) Actually it hasn't been getting much use lately, so you're welcome to flatten out the grass a bit.
The speedwork should help, and also give the legs a break from the long runs. Running should become easier when this heat goes elsewhere.
