The training program SFT had Mt Tennent down as the planned run. 6 of us headed off from the Namadgi Visitors Centre. I was still feeling the effects of a work Christmas Party the day/night before. In hindsight I really didn't pay the run as much respect as I now know it deserves.
I started out ok but three quarters of the way up the mountain the effects of not enough to eat the night before and dehydration started to kick in. I made it to the top of Mt Tennant and was pretty happy about that. A top up of the water bottle and then along Bushflod Flats to the fire trail. Everyone was well in front of me so I made a decision not to run the rest of the downhill leg to Apollo Road but head back up towards the top of the mountain where I could head up to the top or run the track down to the starting point. I ran the downhill as I was out of water.
On reflection this is a very tough run and to make it to the top in reasonable time is a big effort. So I take that as a positive. To attempt to run it in less than 100% condition was a bit foolhardy. Having said that I am really looking forward to our next planned run in January. I now have something to gauge my progress on.
No running today as I have plenty to do in the garden. I have tomorrow off so I'll get out early and do the usual run to Pine Is and back.

Certainly a run that deserves full attention. Very few flat bits, even Bushfold Flats being grass is not that easy. At least, you finished in one piece.
