I wrote a few days ago that I thought that today's double run up Mt Tennent and out through Bushfold Flats would be a real test of character and leave me in no doubt where I am in my quest to run SFT in March. Eight of us set out from Apollo Road on a cool and overcast morning. Some were to do augmented runs and the rest of us were doing the full run.
This is not a run for those who do marshmallow runs on the soft manicured lawns of our cities better known buildings or who have training regimes that are too rigid to try something new. This is a run for those who have a goal and will go through the hard yards to get to it.
So, how did my performance stack up? I was very pleased with my performance. I ran the runable and walked where I had to. Not a dawdle but a strong power walk that I have been practicing since John K let me into his secret. Together the running and walking proved a powerful combination. The distance and pace tell the story.
There are still two months to go so a lot of improvement can be made over in that time. The Mt Tennent run is on 26 January. I will be interested to see how I go under race conditions.
Thanks to all who turned up for the run, especially Two Fruits and CJ who are a constant source of inspiration. I look forward to next Saturday's long run.

Well done today, that will make the next few weeks a little easier, and therefore more room for improvement. Enjoyable day.
