They say that the corner stone of distance running is a good base. If this is true then my base had a health boost over the long weekend. Three runs totaling 94km.

Todays run was around to the sub station and then along the bush tracks that joins up to the track behind Conder around Banks to the road to Tharwa, over behind Gordon and down to Pt Hutt. Along the river track and up to the top parking area at Pine Is. The return was exactly the same as yesterday to the sub station and then around the Theodore track.

Not may out today. A group of kids around at Christmas street smashing bottles who got the sharp end of my tongue before I sent them packing.

I felt really good today and I think it is because of the long runs. For the first time since my injury I have felt that I have a solid foundation to continue building on. I finished the session with a good soak at Pine Is. Tomorrow is a rest day and then it's back into the short runs and tempo runs.
