Running Calendar: Orroral Valley Classic - Jan, Mt Tennent Run - Feb, CP100 - Feb
I've taken a few Wednesdays off between now and CP100 to add in an extra long run. Today was the first run. I ran loops of Mt Taylor. Each loop was 8k and I ran them all anticlockwise. The rain didn't let up except for a period around the 45k mark.
I stopped at the car after each lap long enough to grab a new drink and something to eat. A really good day out. I can put the 7hr+ in the bank as time on feet.
Short run tomorrow, rest day Friday and then the Saturday long run.

Excellent effort to date, just don't suffer burn out, still need to recover from each training session.
Epic training run. You've set a challenge for 2F to match your mileage this month!
Ewen, there's no challenges being thrown out. Two Fruits has years more experience with 100ks and can do it within the 12hr limit comfortably. He'll stick to the recipe he knows works best for him. I have to work out what suits me. This may be overkill but I really don't want DNF if I can so I'm making sure I have some long runs early and then taper back during Feb.
Is anything overkill in ultra training? Whatever your body can handle I reckon. You won't DNF if you set the right pace from the start and have a strong mind for the last 20k.
