The last run of the year, it had to be long enough to meet the monthly total goal and it had to be special. I had unfinished business with Rob Roy after the weather washed out our Boxing Day run. So I set out on what was a hot morning and started from the Theodore end. Up to the starting gate (which, according to the sign, is now named Fishbone Road, yes ACT Parks have been busy naming all the trails) then a run/walk to the top, around the back, down the steep track that has now been sealed. TFs - It's harder to get down when it's dry! Then back home.
A good run that just gave me enough distance.
2009 Report Card
This year was a bit of a mixed bag. The beginning and end of the year had some definite highs. The injury in the middle was a frustrating low. But as I have learned you take the good from the bad and put them to work in your favor.
Six Foot Track was the highlight of the year. A great weekend with good company and a run that didn't disapoint. The injury was obviously the low point but I came through it and a really pleasing run at the Tour De Mountain showed that is all behind me.
I loved the Deep Space Mtn run. Tough and if it is on again in 2010 I will run the full marathon.
The final total for the year was 3731:36km. And for the first time in a long while 500km in a month.
What's in store for 2010?
Maroondah Dam, SFT, possibly a Glasshouse run - 80 or 100km, Bush Capital 60km just to start off the year.
I hope everyone has a happy New Year and I look forward to catching up with you all on the trails in 2010.

Your running got better and better towards the end of the year. That's a good, strong base for heading into the 2010 running year. The events you've got planned should be tough fun. Enjoy! Will see you out on the trails. Happy New Year!
A good year interupted by the injury. A big Dec starts sets down a big starting base for 2010. Looking forward to this year.
Nice new look to the blog. Agree with 2F there - 500 ks is a great base to kick of 2010. Looks like it'll be a good one!
Thanks also for your thoughts. You are so right about the memories.
