I have made real progress over the last week. My calf is the source of the problem. Lots of very hard knots that have been there for years and are really well established. They have limited the calfs ability to act as a shock absorber. So the foot has taken most of it. Lots of accupuncture needles have helped break the knots down. I thought that I might be a show to start running again this weekend but today's visit to the physio changed that. I'm close but it will still be a couple of weeks before I can start again and then only a gradual return. Basically I have to be able to hop on the injured foot pain free.

So that will mean no Three Peaks. Looks like I will be on drink station duty. Fingers crossed to be able to run the 8.4km run at the Deep Space.

I think the only thing keeping me true to my recovery is the thought of running SFT. I really don't want to miss out for a second year. Bike riding again this weekend to try and keep some sort of fitness.

Find a good massage person as well and get them to dig their fingers in to the calf. Plenty of pain but it works. The bike riding will keep you from going backwards. Still plenty of time before SFT, well over 4 months, get back to running, however slowly, no hills until next year. Maybe Boxing Day!
New Garmin arrived yesterday, will take it out over the weekend for a test run. Thanks for the lend of the 101, much appreciated. As you may have read, I am giving Coast to Kozi a miss this year, priority for 2009, concentrate on getting you and CJ to SFT. I will probably help out at Three Peaks, good to see the others doing the hard work.
