A visit to the physio yesterday ruled out Brindabella Classic. Advice is that my foot is not quite right. It is still a couple of weeks off before I should be right to run short distances.
So I have adjusted my running calendar to focus on the two November events.
So today I gave something back to running by volunteering to man one of the drink stations at the Orroral Valley run. It was a perfect morning when Two Fruits picked me up. A nice drive out through what is a very pretty valley. A quick stop to see how many had entered and then I got dropped off about 6km from the start at the top of reasonably long climb.
All were happy to see the back of it and even more relieved to be get a drink. Except Martin Dent who ran right on past like he had a wild dog on his heels.
I waited for the return of the 32km runners and then packed up and waited for Two Fruits. We collected the course markings on the way back and met up with John Hardy just near the finish line.
The conditions were perfect for running and some of the performances showed this. Martin Dent smoked the 20km record. Trevor Jacobs did a similar job in the 32km and from what I could see Kerrie Bremner also put in a very solid performance.
I would have loved to be running but I was very happy to play a small part in the running of the event. It was an enjoyable morning.

I have just read your story after publishing mine, and guess what, very similar stories. Great day, would have been good to have had a serious run.
