If anyone needed inspiration then the women's marathon provided it in spades. To have the belief in your abilities and make a break around the 20km mark and hold on to the end was truely awesome. Never underestimate the power of a woman. Shame Grant Hackett's plan didn't come off.
So it was that armed with this inspiration I headed off on my run. Down to Pine Is, Point Hutt then up behind Gordon, cross Tharwa Road, behind Banks and Conder to the sub-station and home.
The heel spur is still a problem, I have some gel orthotics which seem to help.

That's a good run around that loop, I like it a lot. Plenty of everything, with a nasty climb after Point Hut going behind Gordon. Run that and you are doing very well. I am back to work on Monday, easing into the running again. A great run by the winner of the women's marathon, very gutsy to break away in those conditions.
