Where To

I've been running with a niggley piriformis pain for the last 5 months. It's with me 24/7 and unfortunately there is nothing I can do to get relief. I've been able to get my runs done albeit with a bit of discomfort.

Sunday's run with Two Fruits was a shocker and one I will happily erase from my memory. It did annoy me that I could put in a bad performance when my running has been going so well.

I'm not worried about the 12 hour in Feb because I know I can get through it but what does concern me is not being able to reach my goal kms.

I didn't run today but used the time to try and work out a plan that will help me get the extra training done. Time will tell if it works.

I have had chronic piriformis for years. Email me if you want the contact details of the soft tissue therapist I see for massage and nerve gliding exercises. In the meantime, I suggest a week of no running and I guarantee you you won't know yourself when you run again in a week's time. You need to break the cycle to calm it down and then manage it from a non-inflammed base. Goodluck!

Good luck with it. 2F tells me the 12hr is on the bitumen. A loop on the grass would be better.

How's the piriformis progressing? Have you been to see Clinic 88?
